Indoor Air Quality Improved with Mold Mitigation in Attic

attic reinsulated with cellulose

Location: Roseburg, OR

Challenge:

After reviewing our website, this homeowner called to have us investigate his crawl space. Yet, the bigger issue was in the attic.

Solution:

Our Energy Consultant Eric met with him to discuss what he was looking to accomplish. One item was to get better indoor air quality. Another item was to make his home more comfortable and energy-efficient. To truly determine what was going on in this Roseburg home, Eric investigated the crawl space and the attic space.

It ends up the attic had mold growing in it! Our Insulation Team removed the old attic insulation, air-sealed the floor (to help prevent leaks from the home), vented the bath fan to the outside, and applied MoldX-2 to mitigate the mold.

The final step was re-insulating. Our crew blew in cellulose insulation to the higher R-60 level. All these steps together make for a healthier, more comfortable home.
