Their three-year-old home had cold floors and the owners were concerned about the high humidity and dust levels inside their home.
When our energy consultant investigated under the house, he found evidence of water and also quite a mess! (see BEFORE photo) The fiberglass batting installed under the home (as with any home) was not doing much insulating, so it all explained why they were cold and had a humid and dusty house.
The best solution here is crawl space encapsulation. This basically creates a conditioned space under the house, acting as a barrier to dust and moisture entering their home. Encapsulation isolates this home from the earth. (See AFTER photo) This family now has warmer floors and the humidity and dust are controlled.
