This home, built in the 1950s, had not had attic insulation updated in a long time. The existing insulation (see BEFORE photo) hardly filled the space, and the attic floor was not air-sealed to prevent leaks from below.
The old insulation was removed, the attic floor was air-sealed to help prevent air that the homeowners paid to heat from leaking in to the attic, and then our crew blew in TruSoft™ cellulose insulation to the higher R-60 value. Both the air-sealing plus the cellulose together make the most impact!
