Crawl Space Encapsulation & Attic Insulation for a Home
Completion date: December 27, 2016
Location: Portland, OR
Holly has lived in her 1970 house for twenty-four years and it had always been uncomfortably hot in the summer or freezing cold in the winter. The home also experienced mold issues. After several attempts at trying to strip the paint off the walls only to have the mold return a few months later, she decided it was time for a whole home renovation.
Holly found Josh Lowe’s Dr. Energy Saver at the Portland Home Show and was delighted when Curtis arrived and performed a whole home energy evaluation. Curtis discovered that the crawl space had water in it and was the cause of the mold. Her son suffered from asthma and she needed a solution to relieve him from his symptoms. Curtis explained how an encapsulated crawl space with drainage matting, vapor barrier, and a SumpPump would help eliminate mold. Holly loved the idea of having a healthy son and a CleanSpace under her home.
In order to resolve the uncomfortable temperature in the home, Curtis suggested blown-in TruSoft Cellulose insulation in her attic. Holly knew she didn’t want to go another winter dreading the cold morning air and having to always bundle up, so she readily agreed.
Holly is anticipating her favorite winter in her comfortable home and Josh Lowe’s Dr. Energy Saver is glad to have another happy customer.
