This Portland homeowner heard from their house inspector that the attic hardly had any insulation. (see BEFORE photo)
It was truly sparsely insulated; this effectively was not insulated. When our consultant inspected the attic, he also found that the attic floor was not air-sealed against leaks from the house below, the can lights had no covers to help prevent leakage from below, and the access door to the attic was very leaky.
Our 3-person insulation crew took care of this: air-sealed the attic floor, installed 4 can light covers, insulated the access door, and blew in TruSoft cellulose insulation to the R-38 level (see AFTER photo).
