Mobile Home in Springfield, OR Has Its "Belly" Re-insulated

Mobile Home in Springfield, OR Has Its Mobile Home in Springfield, OR Has Its

Because their mobile home was drafty, these homeowners suspected they had insulation problems under the house. Boy were they right!  Half of the insulation was hanging down (see Before photo), so no wonder they felt drafts inside their home.

There are different options for insulating under a mobile home—re-do the bag that the insulation is blown into (sort of looks like a big belly), stuff underneath between the beams with fiberglass batting, or spray foam the underneath of the mobile home.  These folks chose the batting (see After photo) which was then held in place with twine.  Their home is back to being comfortable and not drafty!

Closed-cell spray foam is a great solution to prevent condensation on the walls and ceiling of a metal building.  This BEFORE photo shows the building just as our crew was preparing the building—they covered the floor in plastic sheeting and taped off beams and other areas with painter’s tape.  The AFTER photo shows the metal parts of the building spray foamed. Now the warmer air inside cannot condensate and drip--it cannot reach the metal walls and ceiling.

Spray Foam Insulation Experts

Spray foam insulation is the best choice for insulation if you’re looking to increase your comfort & decrease your energy bills. Spray foam insulation is truly the best option for home insulation and here are a few reasons why. Spray Foam Insulation provides an air barrier due to its ability to fill gaps and cracks. It is also great at staying in the hard to reach areas because of its super-adhesive qualities. Spray foam insulation is also waterproof, unlike fiberglass and cellulose insulation. Water will not be able to pass through the foam which makes it an extremely durable and long-lasting product. Lastly, spray foam insulation is foolproof. Spray foam is sprayed as a liquid and then expands and hardens to fill voids and gaps. There is never any chance for an area to be missed or void to form. Once cured spray foam insulation will stay in place for decades to come and will never shift or settle like fiberglass. To ensure your home has the best insulation available and your energy bills are low, switch to spray foam insulation today!

Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation Include:

  • spray foam works in all areas of the home
  • has a greater R-value
  • acts as an air sealant
  • is waterproof
  • leaves no gaps

Home Insulation Company

All the heat that you pump throughout your home in the winter can cost more than you anticipated. One of the largest reasons for the high bill you see every month is that your home is not properly insulated and the heat is escaping outside. Josh Lowe's Dr. Energy Saver is your Springfield expert for all types of insulation including rigid foam, attic, crawl space, blown-in, and spray foam insulation. Wherever the air is escaping we can insulate it whether it be through walls, your basement, your attic, or in the crawl spaces.

Custom Home Energy Audits

Our goal is to make your Springfield home more comfortable, more health friendly, and less expensive to heat and cool. In our energy audit evaluation, we inspect your home and provide reports on the condition of major systems like ductwork and insulation. We then check air leakage areas throughout the house to identify weak points where you are losing energy. We then provide recommendations with realistic expectations for energy improvements and offer a free estimate for proposed work.

Job Stories From Springfield, OR
Critter Ripped Up Ductwork And Then Died In The Ductwork

This repeat customer in Springfield, OR called us when a critter had moved in under her house, ripped up some ductwork (see photo), and then died in the ductwork!

Since the damaged ductwork was going to let a lot of air she paid to heat go under the home, and not in her home, this was something that needed to get fixed soon before the weather turned cold. Our crew removed the damaged ductwork, along with the dead critter (it wasn’t pretty), and replaced with new ductwork.  To help prevent access for future animals, an Everlast crawl space door was also installed at the crawl space entrance. This door is made from plastic so will not warp like a wood door (a warped area gives easy access for critters).

Critters Destroyed Insulation Under Springfield, OR Home

This Springfield, OR homeowner found us on Home Advisor and called to get an estimate on replacing the damaged and destroyed insulation under his home.  (see photo)

Our Energy Consultant crawled under his home and found it quite damaged! The homeowner chose us to remove the damaged insulation and replace with R-25 fiberglass batting.  He also chose to replace the vapor barrier, wrap the hot water pipes, and animal-proof it to help prevent critters from getting in there again!

Windows replaced in Springfield, OR

This homeowner, who saw our company on her utility’s list of approved weatherization contractors, had nine old windows that she wanted replaced for better energy efficiency.  Our Energy Consultant worked with her to find windows that fit her budget and also were efficient.  She chose the Simonton Verona line of vinyl, double-pained windows with a U-value of 0.30.  Besides being much more energy efficient windows that what he had before, her home now looks better, too!

This customer, who has used us before for insulation under a different home, called to have Josh Lowe come out to their new home.  They chose us again due to our great service and since we offer Simonton's Daylight Max windows. They also chose a large garden window by Simonton, and they are very satisfied with the results.

Manufactured home in Springfield, OR now more comfortable

This homeowner was referred to us by a neighbor for whom we have already helped with window replacement. Her back door needed to be replaced, and the insulation under her home was very inadequate, making her cold in the winter.  Our crew here at Josh Lowe's Dr. Energy Saver did what is called a "belly blow" to increase the insulation under the home, and replaced the old back door.  She is much more comfortable now and thanks us for the great communication we had with her.
