New Baby and New Parents Now More Comfortable in Their SE Portland Home

Reinsulating an attic

Location: Portland, OR

Challenge:

After these Portland, OR homeowners brought home their newborn baby, they decided to make plans to renovate their house to make it more comfortable. They had found us recommended on Angie’s List and gave us a call to schedule an appointment to determine how to make their house more comfortable and energy efficient in the coming winter months.

Solution:

When our consultant did his evaluation, he found the attic had been carelessly insulated with loose fiberglass batts (see photos 1 and 2) that didn’t even cover the whole attic floor!

Our team went straight to work by removing the old insulation and reinsulating across the gable with our Silver Glo insulation boards (see photo 3), and blanketed the walls with three-inch thick closed-cell spray foam to make sure all the cracks and edges were covered (photo 4).

Since we have insulated the house, the homeowners also placed an air conditioner in their house and can now enjoy keeping their house comfortable and conditioned for them and their newborn baby.
